Our Vision: We seek, for the glory of God, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, to be a Christ-centered community, passionate in worship, biblical in nurture, faithful in gathering, that effectively engages the world for Christ.
Our Mission: Pinewoods youth exists to introduce students to (1) Growth in Grace - Walking with God through the means of grace (word, worship, sacraments, and prayer.) (2) Fellowship and Service - Devoted to live, love and labor together with other believers in service of the Kingdom. (3) Evangelism and Mission - Loving others enough to share the reason for the hope they have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15). (4) Biblical World and Life View - Seizing and enjoying all of life for the glory of God and through His perspective.
Sunday Night Gathering
Sunday nights are a time for middle and high school students to enjoy fellowship with peers their own age and adult leaders who have a passion for investing in the lives of youth. Students can come to a safe place where they can play games, break bread, and be challenged and transformed by the Word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. During the school year, we gather for both Jr and Sr High from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
Samuel and Jessica have been married for close to 4 years now and they love being at Pinewoods church working in student ministries. Their heart is to see students grow in the gospel as they learn that their standing with God is not based upon what they do but what Christ has done for them.
Heather Sport loves Pinewoods Church and has grown up here her entire life. She has a heart for student ministries and desires that students would know their true identity in Christ. She currently is an ambassador at Pensacola State College and is majoring in social work.
Daniel and Hannah have been married for close to two years, and they have had a heart for youth much longer than that. They have worked in various ministries in their previous churches. They are excited to begin a new journey as members of the student leadership tam and see what God has in store in the lives of the youth at Pinewoods!
Harrison has been a member of the local presbytery for his entire life and a member of Pinewoods for the last 5 years. He claims to be 'right at home' when hanging out with middle schoolers making jokes, so it turns out youth ministries was a great step towards that. Harrison is currently finishing up a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Florida and hopes to apply that knowledge overseas in ministry if the opportunity ever arises.
