Music Ministry

Music at Pinewoods Presbyterian Church is crucial to the ministry of the Word.  Singing hymns, psalms, and praise songs, we meet each week to worship together.  From the youngest nursery classes, to junior church, to the Awana club, to adult Bible studies, to special praise and worship services, music serves to teach us and encourage one another in the Lord.

Those who attend Pinewoods may participate in ministry through music in several ways.  The Chara Choir practices weekly and sings an anthem 1-2 times each month, normally the Sunday of the month when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.  Handbell choir meets during the school year and plays a beautiful 2-octave set of bells seasonally for Advent and Easter, and throughout the year for introits and special music.  Instrumentalists (flute, violin, keyboard, guitars, percussion) and vocalists practice each week to lead during Sunday morning worship services, as well as sing and play offertories from time to time.  And we have great help in the audio/visual area running sound, slides, and videos and recording sermons on Sunday mornings.
