Our Beliefs

What We Believe

... About The Bible
We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

... About God
We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

... About Man
We are sinners in need of God's grace.

... About Salvation
We are saved by God's grace, which we receive through faith in Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, who died on the cross to take away our sin, and give us his perfect righteousness, which is given (imputed) to us.  Apart from Christ, we are dead.  In Christ, we have new life.

... About The Christian Life
The Christian life of gratitude is a life lived by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, indwells God's people, giving them the strength and power to live changed lives.

... About The Resurrection and Christ's Return
We believe that Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return bodily to judge the living and the dead.  On that day, salvation will be based not on our works, but on God's grace, freely given to all who believe in Jesus.

... About Theology
We are Presbyterian, and as such we receive both the ecumenical creeds of the church (the Apostle's Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed) and the Westminster Confession of Faith and its related catechisms as reliable summaries about what the Bible teaches about God, man, and the Christian life of gratitude.

... About the Church
We are one small branch of Christ's Church, which has always existed.  We are also part of the Presbyterian Church in America, a denomination that strives to be faithful to the Scriptures, true to the Reformed tradition, and obedient to the Great Commission.
